How it works

This tool splits your text into paragraphs, counts how often each significant word appears in each paragraph, and renders a color-coded heatmap so you can visually identify overused terms at a glance.

  • Heatmap grid — rows represent the most frequent words in your text; columns represent individual paragraphs. Darker cells indicate higher word frequency in that paragraph, making clusters of overuse immediately visible.
  • Top words slider — controls how many of the most frequent words to display. Increase it to see a broader vocabulary profile or decrease it to focus on the most dominant terms.
  • Min word length — filters out short common words (articles, prepositions) so the heatmap focuses on meaningful content words.
  • Vocabulary richness — the ratio of unique words to total words. Higher percentages suggest more varied vocabulary. Typical prose ranges from 40–60%; academic writing may be higher.
  • Most concentrated words — words that appear heavily in one or two paragraphs rather than being spread evenly. These often signal sections that could benefit from synonym substitution.

All analysis runs entirely in your browser — no text is sent to any server.
